Motiongraff- bridging music, art and photography

MOTIONGRAFF uses stop-motion photography to document and share the creative process. This deconstructive presentation is a powerful vehicle for delivering a message. They use transmedia storytelling to share visual art, photography, and music. Using both technical know-how and a transparent learning process, the planning stages and various materials used are revealed.

Motiongraff shares techniques and inspiration with other artists and enthusiasts. This is done using different conventions, such as using recurring themes for episodes. The “Neighborhood Series,” the “Tribute Series,” and “Music Video Series,” are examples of such motifs. It started as an art project. It has snowballed into a show.

From one of my favorite new music sites

Carl Cox’s new album to release this summer.

Carl Cox presents “AllRoads Lead to the Dancefloor” with Remix of “The Player” by Onionz.

Recorded over the last year in Carl’s Melbourne studio ‘All Roads Lead to the Dancefloor’ showcases a range of styles across its 20+ tracks including Vocal House, Dubstep, Drum & Bass, Latin and of course Techno. “This album is aimed purely at the dancefloor,” says Carl. “Every track should be a winner too as I’ve been road-testing and remixing them to make sure they really do work.”

Even more excitingly, Intec have created a whole new concept around the release; “You pay the one price for the one product,” explains Carl. “And the USB will not only give you the album, but it’ll also be your key to everything I do in the next 12 months or so.”

Hit latest album is on ground breaking USB Format, and can be pre-ordered on IntecDigital:

Sandwell District Album . Released in Digital Format

As stalwarts of the hugely influential Downwards Label, Function and Regis have been breaking down and re-arranging the D.N.A of conventional dance music for over a decade. Sandwell District however is very much it’s own animal and although it shares many of it’s ideals and energy with the iconic Downwards, it is very much the current label to watch. As Beatportal recently put it, “Influential British techno label Downwards are causing waves with their new imprint Sandwell District, as is Marcel Dettmann, Shed and Sleeparchive, who have all picked up where Downwards left techno in the late 1990s.”

Function has had 2 massive hits these past years, with his “ISOLATION AND ANTICIPATION EP’S ” and Regis causing major waves on the underground with his alternate moniker KALON, over the past few years, Sandwell District has reinvented techno for the ages.

I LOVE TECHNO festival in Belgium

Global techno and underground music at the acclaimed I LOVE TECHNO festival in Belgium.

It’s pretty self-explanatory. If you love techno, attend I Love Techno. Since its inception in 1995, the event attracted so many techno lovers in Belgian and surrounding areas that it has outgrown the original space and now packs in upwards of 35,000 people at the Flanders Expo. There, five colored rooms (red, orange, yellow, blue and green) offer techno of different variants in addition to the enormous, buzzing main hall.

It’s one big moving, electronic, techno loving mass. And it just keeps on growing. As the organizers explain, “I love techno” is one of the top search phrases (followed by “I love movies”). So whether people are looking for the event in Belgium, or just love techno, data proves there is a need, a desire even, for I Love Techno. And the popularity is proven with ticket sales – the event sells out quickly, really quickly – so unless you plan on begging, borrowing or stealing a ticket at the entrance, you’ll need to plan years in advance. (Yes, seriously!)
